About Gataca

Gataca was born from a research project at MIT in 2017, where our CEO, Irene Hernández, identified how existing identity verification systems were failing both businesses and users by increasing fraud risk while adding friction to the experience.

We believe verification shouldn’t rely on more steps, but on better signals.

So we built Gataca, a digital identity platform with real-time intelligence, enabling organizations to interact with ID wallets to verify users in one click, assess risk, and/or issue reusable credentials while keeping the experience seamless.

The result: higher conversion, less fraud, and automated compliance, built on respect for user privacy.
